The bulk of my day consist of me wearing headphones. Usually I’m listening to music but when I’m not I’m listening to my favorite podcast. There are a few shows I hardly ever miss, one is Chonilla. Clove and Sherley are an interracial couple (hence the name CHO (chocolate) and NILLA (vanilla)) that discuss their day-to-day encounters with their kids, work, and what’s in the news usually once a week live on Spreecast Friday nights at 9pm EST. Sometimes they give each other or occasional guess, magazine type quizzes. In between the conversations they take breaks and play a diverse playlist of music.
Recently Chonilla started giving away t-shirts to people in the chat room that could guess the theme of the songs during the break. So far they have done songs that feature piano riffs, songs produced by Eric Sermon and most recently songs sampled by P.Diddy. For the last theme, Clove hit me up on twitter and asked about collaborating with the show on playlist and was geeked and ready for the challenge. It took me a little while to figure out what theme I should go with, but since then I’ve though of several. I present you today the playlist used on 12/13/13 Chonilla Live: Happy Festivus episode. Each song was sampled in a Sean “P.Diddy” Combs produced track. Can you guess what songs he used them in?
Loving the site, and thank you for creating it. Music brings us all together.
“I think music can make the world better and, if I’m qualified, I want to do it. I’d like to point out to people the divine in a musical language that transcends words. I want to speak to their souls.” – John Coltrane
